I am a self taught artist born and raised in San Antonio TX. I come from a large family of 6 sisters and 1 brother.
As many families on the south side of San Antonio, my Mother had her share of struggles and obstacles in raising a large family.
I owe all of my strengths and motivations to my Mother and my faith in God.
My artists name E.V.A is an acronym for Elena (myself), Valerie (my daughter) and Anthony (my son). If you look closely you will also see the 3 letters in my signature logo. I started the hobby of ceramics when I was in still in high school. As a young single mother I returned to school for a higher education where I was introduced to mosaic art work. I had an assignment in my art appreciation class that required me to complete a mosaic image. It was this assignment that brought my talent to light. I began to play more frequently with my ceramics and one day decided to combine the two styles together. Although I design and make all kinds of ceramic vases and novelty items, I came up with the name "Mosaic Memories" because of the photographs I can replicate in mosaic form.
